About the Board
Mission of the Student Board:
The mission of the College of Biological Sciences Student Board is to build community within CBS, represent the interests of the CBS Student Body by bridging the gap between students and faculty, as well as to unite and financially assist student organizations related to the interest of CBS. The CBS Student Board advocates on behalf of the CBS undergraduate population through representation and collaboration with other organizations within CBS and with increased involvement in the greater University environment. The CBS Student Board provides additional support for students by regularly holding various social, academic, professional, and community service events aimed at informing students of opportunities, such as research and networking, that may enrich their college experience.
Principle Goals of the Student Board:
1. Represent the CBS undergraduate population through participation in the following organizations:
Undergraduate Advisory Board
Minnesota Student Association
CBS Educational Policy Committee
CBS Consultative Committee
Student Conflict Resolution Center
Council on Liberal Education
2. Provide grant money to other CBS student groups
3. Host events for CBS students to facilitate social and professional community building within the life sciences as well as engagement in the greater Twin-Cities community
4. Leadership development for members
Application to Join
In order to join the CBS Student Board, you must fill out an application (found below), after which you may be selected for further interviewing by the President and Vice President. Applications to join the Board are available at the end of the current semester.
